Anada Computers has recently introduced a multilingual Library Management System. It is named as Bijoy Library. Bijoy Library is a full-featured Library Management System with all useful and advanced features necessary to manage all types of libraries. It can serve a large Public Library like our National Public Library with millions of books and other materials or it can manage a small Home/Office Library with few hundred knowledge resources. Bijoy Library has been designed after close scrutiny and understanding of international Library Management Systems. The software has been created with analysing the need of the libraries in Bangladesh. Many experts in Library Science and experineced Librarians have put their ideas into it. The software also supports most Barcode Readers and can automatically read, generate and print Barcodes. In addition, you can also use your Barcode Reader to easily jump to items in your database. The software features storing of different types of data, multiple views, advanced versatile and customized reporting, data export to standard formats, a powerful search engine, full customization of fields and data, Barcode facilities, Web publishing, Service management and many more.

Main Features

Bijoy Library has eight major sections, which are; Acquisition, Catalogue, Circulation, Stock Taking, Personal Info, Usage Rules, Service and Digital Contents. These includes more useful features which might fulfill the complete requirement to manage a library in a digital way.

Bijoy Library is the first Multilingual Library Management System which truly handles all the living langauages of the world. A major problem of this Library Management System was to enter Bangla, Arabic or other langauges text, numbers in the database. Even Library Managemnt Systems costing millions of Taka like GLAS does not have the facility to input Bangla data in Bangla characters. Even if the data can be input Reports, View, Printing, Sorting and Searching could not be done in those software. Most software does not support Bangla-to be more specific sortable, searchable and useable. Thus in almost every case Bangla words are enetered and used with Roman characters. Bijoy Library has the capability to deal with English, Bangla and all other languages of the world which is Unicode encoded and supported by the Windows Operating System.

Bijoy Library provides full security to be used by different level of people. Access to the software is thus controlled. It can be used by the visitors in a very limited way. Members can use it upto their requirement including memmbership info.

Information of library personel, staffs, members, visitors and all kinds of user can be manged digitaly with option to use Barcode Reader.

Bijoy Library has multiple entry layout to input data in different sections. Books, non-books, newspaper, newsletters etc has its own layout for providing appropriate and actual data in the database.
Bijoy Library can generate reports in multiple formats. Reports in Bijoy Library Can be customized as per the need of the user. Every section has its own View and Report.

Bijoy Library can provide multiple views. Views in column, row, single, multiple, period, daily etc are available.

Searches can be implemented in multiple options with advanced setting of criterea and in multiple languages. Wild cat searches, keyword based searches, any word based searches and logical searches are available. Even a general search facility is available without entering the software to facilitate the user about the resources available in the library.

All activities of the circulation section including issue, receive, delay reports, reminder, calculation of fine, blocking members, resources reservation by certain previledged members of a library can be managed digitally. Barcode Readers can be used in this section.

Stocks of materials can be taken digitally. Thus tracking of resources are easy and chances of loosing materials are very narrow.

Daily/ Periodical Transaction Reports : Dailybased or period based trnsaction reports can be generated on different activities. like Acquisition, Catalogue, Circulation, Personal Information, Member Info, Staff Information, Visitor Info. etc. It helps the management to have an on the spot report and birds eye view of the library activities.

Library Usage Rules can be defined by the authorities. It can be changed and modified. On the basis of the rules fine calculation, member blocks, reservation and many other things are automatically done.
Bijoy Library backups data automatically. It can also restore data when needed.

Bijoy Library is fully networkable. It can work independently and it can work uder a network environment.

Surprisingly this software does not require any database software like Oracle, SQL, My SQL Access etc. to be installed in your computer. Moreover when it is installed it starts working without any modification.

Bijoy Library includes Bijoy Ekushe, the flagship Unicode Compatible Bangla software without any extra cost. Bangla Software can also be used for other purposes.

Bijoy Library is Windows Vista compatible. However it is also compatible with Windows XP.
The Software can be used in an Internet/Intranet environment.

Optional Features are available to manage services of a library like, Internet Browsing, Photocopy, Learning and Practices of skill development courses etc.

Digital Contents can be included in a section where resources can be archived digitally and can be accessed even through Internet or Intranet.
