Transformation from traditional to online banking has been a leap change in banking industry. The online banking system to address several emerging treads, customer demand for anywhere, anytime service what accepted by the consumer positively. To aware the mass people of the country about the beauty of this service along with the Risk, CTO Forum Bangladesh organized a workshop on “Online Banking Security aspects and awareness of stakeholders” only for the local IT Journalist’ on Saturday, March 01, 2014 at the conference room of CTO Forum Bangladesh.
The workshop was presided by Tapan Kanti Sarkar, President, CTO Forum Bangladesh. In his welcome speech he mention that “This kind of inteactive session enhenced our knowledge what help both to be accountable as service provider and help media to perform their responsibility to aware the mass people”. He also mentions that CTO Forum will organize this kind of seminar for the BIJF members in future also.
The Keynote paper was delivered by Lutfor Rahman, CIO of Airtel Bangladesh. Among others CTO Forum leaders Nawed Iqbal, Syed Masodul Bari, Dr. Ijazul Haque and Debdulal Roy was present in this workshop.
Members of BIJF and president Muhammad Khan thanked CTO Forum for organizing such event successfully.
During the workshop the experst from different financial institute Shared their experience and aspect of Online Banking Security to the participants. A number of ICT journalist from different media were participated at the workshop and discussed the different security issues of online trasaction.
Sony launches new smartphones, Xperia Z2 tablet
Sony recently announced a slim, light and waterproof Android-based Xperia Z2 tablet and two new Xperia smartphones at the launch of Mobile World Congress. The 10.1-in. high-definition display tablet and the high-end Xperia Z2 smartphone, with a 5.2-in display, will be available globally in March, while the Xperia M2 with a 4.8-in display, will ship in April.
Pricing was not announced, although Sony said the M2 will sell at a ‘mid-range’ price to reach new buyers, such as those moving from feature phones to smartphones for the first time. The tablet and the Z2 run KitKat (Android 4.4), while the M2 runs Jelly Bean (Android 4.3). Also at MWC, Sony plans to reveal more details of its Core sensor for use in wearable devices such as the SmartWear product line. The SmartBand works with a new Lifelog fitness app on a smartphone, including the
new Xperia Z2.
Sony introduced its Core technology at International CES in January. A month later, Sony announced it was selling off its struggling Vaio PC business, and anticipated a $1.1 billion loss for the fiscal year ending in March.
Sony’s latest forays into mobile products are seen as an attempt at a rebirth for the 60-year-old Japanese electronics giant. Wearable devices are where Sony could do best, since the market is
young. Sony ranks seventh in smartphones shipments globally with a 3.8% market share, according to research firm IDC. In tablets, Sony hasn’t broken into the top 15 and holds less than 1% of the market, IDC said, reports networkworld.com. The Xperia Z2 Tablet is described as the world’s slimmest (0.25 inches thick) and lightest (15 ounces) of the waterproof tablets on the market, and is designed to be comfortable to hold in one hand.
GP gets ‘Green Mobile Award’
Grameenphone (GP), one of the leading mobile phone operators of the country got most prestigious award ‘Green Mobile Award’ of world mobile congress. World mobile congress arranged by Global System for Mobile communications Association (GSMA) nominated Grameenphone for the award. Grameenphone (GP) won the award under Extensive Climate Change Program. Two top high officials of Grameenphone- Chief Executive Officer Vivek Sood and Chief Technical Officer Tanveer Mohammad received the award at the venue of World Mobile Congress at Barcelona. The award was handed over in eight categories including top mobile service provider, top mobile handset and device, top apps, top mobile technology. The head of all mobile technology companies joined in the world mobile congress to introduce the various facilities of new technology for mobile phone users. Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zukerberg, IBM CEO Virginia Rometty, Telenor Group president Jon Fredrik Baksaas, Ford Motor Company president of Europe, Middle East and Africa Stephen T Odell, among others joined in the event.
