Microsoft’s New Expansion
Microsoft’s New Expansion
Microsoft is taking their ambition to be a device and services company quite seriously.Right after their acquisition of Nokia’s mobile phone services, which would make them a device company, They had come up with a brilliant idea of offering X Box music on the web for free.
This expansion beyond Windows 8 and X Box game consoles for free, would actually help them to compete with other music consoles like Pandora, Spotify and iTunes. Its quite an acknowledgement, how the music service hasn’t done much to drive sales among the Windows 8 operating system.
Windows 8 Users have already enjoyed X Box Music, as it is the default music in the operating system. Microsoft’s idea of making it available to a wider audiance, was a good one, because after experiencing the free music, many won’t mind spending a few bucks on getting it.
The music service would save favourites and playlists over PCs and window phones and also X Box game consoles. This service would also alow the user to chose from 30 million tracks and also stream them for free. Downloading certain tracks, which can’t be streamed due to copyright issues, is also provided by this music service.
Microsoft is taking this move of expanding its music console, by launching apps for iphone and android phones so that they can have access to X Box Music.November 22nd onwards, the X Box 1 users can play games listening to X Box music. Something, which never happened before

China Develops Windows and Android Killer
China is once again taking a nationalist stance on technology, this time, with its own PC and mobile operating system. The goal is to decrease China’s reliance on U.S. software companies.
The state-controlled Xinhua News Agency reported the announcement on 25 August last, citing U.S. surveillance as one of the reasons Chinese engineers are developing their own operating system for desktop computers and mobile devices.
The new software would compete directly with Microsoft (MSFT, Tech30) Windows and Google (GOOG) Android. It would be available to China’s consumers and government personnel alike. The operating system is slated for release in October, Xinhua reported. This isn’t the first time China attempted a homegrown OS. One of its top military engineering universities launched something called Kylin in 2001. The Chinese Academy of Sciences released the China Operating System, COS, in January of this year. But they haven’t caught on like Windows

Sept 19 iPhone 6 Release
One week after the scheduled September 9 iPhone 6 intro, release date of the device is thought to follow immediately and there are fresh indicators to support that such will be the events to unfold next month.
The most solid sign, perhaps, that the next iPhone is touching down very soon is the latest development over at U.S. telco Verizon. The carrier, according to Apple Insider, has run out of iPhone 5C stocks, specifically the 32GB variant.
As of this week, the handset is on stock-out status and a source cited by Apple Insider claims that the product has been retired silently. That means the high-capacity mid-range smartphone from Apple will not be making a comeback anytime soon.
The move, the report said, can be interpreted as one of the preparations currently in play for the iPhone 6 arrival this coming September
