HP Recognizes Top Resellers of 2008 with Award Trip to Istanbul


Hewlett-Packard, the internationally leading printer and IT equipment manufacturer recently awarded their top performing resellers of Asia Emerging Countries with a full paid 4 days recognition trip to Istanbul, Turkey. HP South-East Asia Vice President Margaret Ong, HP Asia Emerging Countries Market Development Manager Albert Seah hosted the event for the winners. Total 20 resellers across the AEC countries received this top achievers award.



On November 4, the HP resellers were received at the Istanbul airport by the HP welcoming committee and were escorted to Istanbuls most renowned landmark hotel “Hotel Marmara”. The next morning the recognition event started with the welcoming session by Margaret Ong. She awarded the top resellers of AEC Countries with the achievement recognition certificates. From Bangladesh, Akhter Hossain Khan of Sys International, Matiur Rahman of Reliance Technologies, Shahiduzzaman of Microway Systems, Engr. Aslam Chowdhury of Advance Computer Technology, Mamunur Rashid of Mobilelink International and Hasanul Islam of Flora Ltd. received this honorable reward by demonstrating their outstanding performances in 2008. The Sightseeing of Istanbul started with the tour of the Hagia Sophia Museum, which is one of Istanbuls most prominent symbol. The first day of the event ended with a cruise and dinner on a luxury yacht on the Bosporus channel. The winners experienced the magnificent view of the Bosporus by night while they cruise by ornate Ottoman palaces and grand villas, saw the skyline touched with great rounded domes and elegant minarets, watch the city lights of Asia and Europe fusing reflections of golds, reds and oranges on the water of Bosporus. The winners were taken to the Topkapi Palace in the next morning. It is one of the worlds oldest palaces still in existences today, which has now turned into a museum having artifacts beyond all value and without equal in the world. The delegates were astonished by seeing the foot print preserved permanently on the piece of soil-stone, the beard and sword of the holey prophet Hazrat Mohammad (SM), the robe of Hazrat Fatema (Ra), the sword of Hazrat Ali (Ra), the locks of the holy Kabba door.



The top achievers also took part in an interesting event of treasure hunt race in the Grand Bazaar. They were given the map of this oldest bazaar of the Istanbul, having more than 4,000 shops, restaurants, mosques. During the Ottoman rule this bazaar was an important center of trade. Still today it amazes tourists with its size, variety of shops and ranges of goods available in here. They also visited the Dolmabahce Palace, residence of Ottoman Sultans. The palace is having 365 rooms, 22 saloons and famous for its collection of European antiquity, gold gilded furniture and over 4 ton weights chandelier!! The founder of the modern Turkey, Kamal Ataturk spent his last days in this palace. Istanbul is the city where a traveler can travel between Europe and Asia with the shortest time through the bridges on the Bosporus channel. The delegates were given tour of the both European and Asian side of Istanbul with a remarkable breath taken view from the top most point of Istanbul, the Camlica Hill. The tour ended with a grand gala dinner at Galata Tower.

This remarkable tower and most prominent landmark of Istanbul is standing in one form or another since 528AD. The Top Achievers of HP Business Partners had a sumptuous dinner while enjoying the Turkeys traditional entertaining performance at the Gala Tower.
