National Physics Olympiad-2011

The ‘National Physics Olympiad’ was held for the first time in the Oxford International School premises on 29 April 2011. G.M. Nizam Uddin, the Principal of Oxford International School and Professor Md. Monimul Huque, Department of Chemistry, inaugurated the proramme. The Olympiad entitled ‘Oxford-The Daily Star National Physics Olympiad-2011’ comprised students from over fifty schools and colleges as participants in the Olympiad. The competition included rounds of examination, presentations of project works, seminars, quiz contests, video show on astronomy etc. Lastly, a science based drama show entitled `Tears in Einstein’s Eyes’ was staged along with different other cultural programmes.



The Chief Guest present in the event was State Minister for ICT Architect Yeafesh Osman, MP awarded the gold, silver and bronze medals amongst the winners. The Special Guests present in the programmne were Professor M. Shamsher Ali, President, Bangladesh Academy of Science, Dr. M.
