Canon Representatives Visit Bangladesh
Recently, two high-level officials from Canon Singapore came on a brief trip to Bangladesh. Kazuhiro Ozawa, Director, Regional Business Imaging Solutions Division, South & South East Asia, and Jonson Ng, Manager, Regional Business Imaging Solutions Division, came to gain knowledge about the latest situation of Bangladeshi market.
During their stay, they visited Canon’s Bangladeshi distributor, J.A.N Associates, at its Dhanmondi office. The representatives discussed various matters with J.A.N Associates’ Managing Director, Abdullah H. Kafi and other high officials. H. Kafi informed them of the latest condition of Canon in Bangladeshi market and his company’s activities. They also talked with other high officials J.AN Associates. Canon Singapore officials visited IDB Market. There they also visited J.A.N Associates showroom and met with the dealers of Canon products.
Kazuhiro Ozawa was very happy to meet with the dealers. He said, ‘Canon sees itself as a company growing and prospering over the next 100, and even 200, years. Bangladeshi market has huge potential and there is lot of room for growth. I strongly believe that we will work together and become more successful in future.’
The officials discussed and resolved various issues with the dealers and shared opinions on expanding the market share of Canon in Bangladesh.
They attended a press-conference with the journalists at the IDB market office of J.A.N Associates. Ozawa and Jonson Ng discussed on different matters and answered their queries. He informed that it was his first visit to Bangladesh and he was very excited to come here and meet new people. Kafi thanked the journalists for their continuous support towards Canon and spreading awareness among people about Canon products
TE Enterprise Starts Its Operation in Bangladesh
TE Enterprise Networks Launched its official operation in Bangladesh. Launching session was held in a local hotel on 04 April 2014 last.

BASIS and Asia Foundation Organized a Policy Dialogue
On 20 April 2014, BASIS in partnership with The Asia Foundation organized the policy dialogue ‘Policy Reform to Encourage Competition and Private Sector Investment in the ICT sector’ at the Westin Dhaka engaging private and public stakeholders to collaborate in building a better business environment in the ICT sector. BASIS President Shameem Ahsan presided over the policy dialogue.
BASIS has crafted out the roadmap for the development of the ICT sector for the next five years, with specific milestone, targets, and an appropriate detailed vision and plan to make the Internet available to 1 crore new users yearly, to earn US $ 1 billion from software/ITES export, to train and employ 1 million skilled IT professionals and to contribute 1% to GDP from the software and IT sector by 2018, under our ‘One Bangladesh’ vision. Our next major challenge is to ensure the same growth in the use of the Internet and access to the world wide information sources and communities through ‘One Bangladesh’
